Bobby asked:

I want to set cctv system for my home with about 3 cameras. How can I record all of the cameras on a standard vcr? I’ve seen cameras on ebay but the connectors wont fit the input jacks on a vcr. It looks like they have female connectors.

Also what is the best way to power the cameras?

CCTV Guide Says:

If you look on the back of your VCR you notice that there is one “RCA” type connector. This will allow only one camera to be hooked up at a time. To record more than on CCTV camera at a time you need what’s called a QUAD PROCESSOR

Click on the picture below for more information
QUAD PROCESSOR

A Quad Processor can connect up to 4 cameras and has a single output that connects to your VCR. If you security camera has differn’t type of connector than your VCR then you can run down to a “Radio Shack” type electronics store to get the right adapter.

What is the main mean difference between a hidden camera and a cctv camera

CCTV Guide Says:
The main difference is size. Both types of cameras use some sort of ccd board camera. In a hidden nanny camera the actual lens has a very small opening. It is some times known as a pin hole lens

COLOR BOARD CAMERA W/EXVIEW LENS - 500 TV LINES .01 LUX

On the other hand a standard type CCTV Camera uses a larger lens.
ULTRA HI-RES CCD CAMERA W/ X-VISION - COLOR

Another major diffence is that a standard CCTV camera can use zoom lenses and ones that adapt better to varying lighting conditions.
