chris b wants to know:
I want to install a CCTV system in my building. I’m thinking about a 4 camera system
CCTV Guide Says:
Lets take a look at what you’ll need. Besides the cameras your going to need a way to record the cameras. Your best bet is a digital video recorder (DVR). A DVR has allot of advantages over a VCR. For one you will get better recorded video.
Secondly with a VCR your limited by the amount of the tape whick is about 6 hours. With a DVR the amount of recording time is mostly dependant on the size of the included hard drive. You should be able to get several days worth of recording.
You’ll also need wiring and power supplies. Most companies will either include these in the price or have them available for you.
Once you have all the cameras wired up and installed you need a way to watch it live or on replay. We recommend a flat panel Computer monitor. Although you could use a standard TV set, a computer monitor will give you better playback image quality.
Here is an example of a complete do it yourself kit.
It includes every thing you need.
